About Us
Who WeAre
Global Flow Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing menstrual health, education, and overall wellness in underserved communities. Founded by Esther Odame after witnessing firsthand the challenges girls and women face in accessing menstrual products, our mission has grown to serve entire communities because we believe health and dignity are human rights for everyone, not a privilege.
We provide free menstrual products, teach menstrual health education to both girls and boys, and promote health awareness. Our programs extend beyond menstrual care, offering health screenings, school supplies, hygiene products and other essentials to support the overall well-being of our communities.
Rooted in compassion and guided by respect, we work closely with local partners, volunteers, and supporters to create lasting impact, empowering individuals and building healthier, more informed communities with the vision of creating a world where no one is held back by lack of access to care.

Our Mission &Vision
Our Mission
Empower the Flow. Empower the Future.
We are committed to breaking barriers by providing menstrual products, health education, and supportive programs to women and girls. Beyond immediate relief, our mission aims to advance menstrual equity, keep girls in school, and empower communities with dignity, confidence, and opportunity.
Our Vision
We envision a world where no one is held back by their period. A world where menstrual health is prioritized, products are accessible to all, and education empowers every individual to help build a healthier, more informed, and compassionate future.
Our Story
In July 2023, during a two-week trip to Ghana, I, Esther Odame, ran out of the menstrual products I had brought with me. Accustomed to easy access in the U.S., I stopped by a local pharmacy expecting to quickly find an affordable pack. Instead, I was shocked. The cheapest option was six pads for 30 Ghana cedis, about three dollars. The price alone was startling, but what struck me even more was the reality behind it—this small pack cost as much as a 48-pack back home. That moment stayed with me.
When I returned to the U.S., I could not stop thinking about it. I researched and discovered that many women in Ghana spend about 14% of their monthly income on menstrual products. For too many, these essential items are a luxury, not a basic necessity. Girls miss school, women miss work, and many are forced to compromise their dignity. Without access to safe products, women and girls are often exposed to unsafe or unhygienic alternatives, increasing the risk of infections and diseases. The inequality and hardship I had glimpsed in that pharmacy hit me deeply. I knew I could not ignore it.
Driven by this experience, I founded Global Flow Foundation, Inc. to make menstrual products accessible, provide education, and support communities. In June 2024, with no clear plan but a strong belief in the cause, I returned to Ghana with $1,000 worth of products. With a small but passionate team of volunteers, we hosted our first distribution event, reaching women and girls who needed help immediately. That moment confirmed that our mission could make a real difference.
Global Flow Foundation goes beyond products. We work to break menstrual stigmas, promote education, and support health and wellness because empowerment is about more than just access—it is about dignity, confidence, and community.
I am deeply grateful to every volunteer, partner, and supporter who has joined this journey. Together we are creating lasting change, one community, one girl, and one flow at a time.
